Napoleon Bonaparte was born on the French island of Corsica, on the 15th of August 1769. In 1799, he overthrew the Directory, which brought and end to the French Revolution. He then ruled over France during one of its most pivotal times in history. In fact, his time as the ruler of France involved numerous wars and conflicts throughout Europe.
