FRENCH REVOLUTION GOVERNMENTS INFOGRAPHIC

The French Revolution occurred from 1789 to 1799 and is considered one of the most important events of the western world.  It was preceded by the Age of Enlightenment and is viewed by many historians as a major turning point for the ideals of liberty and equality.  It brought about the end of the absolute monarchy of Louis XVI and transformed France from a country rooted in feudalism to a republic.  During the time of the French Revolution, the revolutionaries established several different governments, including: National Assembly, Legislative Assembly, National Convention and the Directory.  Click the links above to read more information about each topic.
